About the class

How can I identify potential supporters and encourage my community to support my crowdfunding campaign?  What kinds of rewards should I offer? How can I market my crowdfunding campaign?

It's been almost impossible to miss the rise of crowdfunding over the past few years. With so many success stories it can be tempting to conclude that success comes easy but this isn't the case! The majority of all those who try crowdfunding, irrespective of which platform they use, fall short of their goals.  These tools will help you succeed!

Alex Budak has helped over 100 social good projects from around the world run successful crowdfunding campaigns using these tips.  By sharing these concepts and ideas with others, they can empower others to start good through crowdfunding as well.

This class will help you practice and refine every single day in helping ventures on your site raise funds.  They started out as a blank slate with a few assumptions and along the way have taken it as a journey to learn what works and what doesn't.  And now they are passionate about sharing these lessons with others!

Lesson Plan:
-Introduction to Crowdfunding
-Why Crowdfunding is a misleading term
-How to choose the right crowdfunding platform
-How crowdfunding fits with models of social change
-Fundraising as storytelling: the five stories to tell
-Tips and best practices for running a successful campaign (videos, rewards, marketing plan and more).
